Hi there, thanks for stopping by! My name is Carolina, but everyone calls me Carrie.

I am a PhD candidate in sociology at Princeton University where I’m also affiliated with the Kahneman-Treisman Center for Behavioral Science & Public Policy. I am currently on the job market.

My research leverages qualitative and experimental methods to examine the intersections of gender, sexuality, organizations, religion, and power. My work has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Religion and Journal of College and Character. Learn more about my research here.

Since August 2021, I have served as a voting member of Princeton's Institutional Review Board (IRB). I am passionate about teaching, advising, and mentoring, and I see my IRB service as an extension of these priorities. You can learn more about my teaching philosophy and experience here.

I hold a B.A. in Sociology and Poverty Studies from Furman University and an M.A. in Sociology from Princeton University.

Prior to graduate school, I served as the Multifaith Coordinator for Elon University’s Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life. Before that, I was the Research and Policy Associate at the Community Development Project of NYC’s Urban Justice Center. And before that, I worked at your friendly neighborhood Trader Joe’s.
